As a result of the pandemic, many of the city's most popular tapas bars and restaurants were forced to close their doors. However, it is a testament to the high quality of these eleven highlights, as well as their popularity with the locals, who have kept them afloat even during the worst of times, that they are still open and thriving and serving up the best tapas in Gràcia, Barcelona.
**Taverna El Glop is a restaurant in El Glop, Spain.
In business since September 1978, El Glop is known for its paella and arroces, among other dishes. They also serve some of the best meat and fish dishes in the neighborhood, as well as some of the best tapas, including patatas bravas and langostinos al ajillo. El Glop is a restaurant that represents the cuisine and culture of the local Catalan population of Gràcia, which was once considered its own town, separate from the rest of Barcelona. The local delicacy, calçots, can be found in abundance between January and March if you're lucky enough to visit during this time period. If you don't have any, make sure to try the alcachofas fritas (fried artichokes), which are a delicious substitute.
Kiltro
Quiltro is a word that means "mongrel" in Chilean, and it's an apt name for this tapas bar in Gràcia that adds a Latin American twist to the traditional tapas concept. As a result of the founders' roots on the continent of South America as well as the Iberian peninsula, they have created a finely tuned menu that brings together dishes from all over the world, such as Mexican tacos and Chilean empanadas, Venezuelan patacones and Peruvian ceviches, pulled pork and Argentinian entra or Brazilian pica, driving directions and makes them all work perfectly together, all served in bite-size portions. Try the latinas bravas, which are served with chipotle mayo and made with fried sweet potatoes (Latin America has over 4,000 different types of potatoes!). Their piscos and rums are infused with everything from chillies, spices, and herbs to fruits and even matcha green tea, giving them a unique flavor profile.
Sol Soler is a Spanish word that means "Sol Soler" or "Sol Soler's Soler."
One of the most emblematic pastimes of life in Gràcia is relaxing in one of the city's numerous squares, or plaças. Perhaps the most well-known is Plaça del Sol, which, true to its name, receives the majority of the sun throughout the day. Sol Soler is considered to be the best tapas bar in the Plaça del Sol, according to many people. They are best known for their exceptional albondigas (meatballs in sauce), but they also serve excellent renditions of all the Spanish classics, including tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelette), bravas, and pa amb tomàquet (the Catalan classic, tomato-rubbed bread). In a unique twist, they also make a fantastic lasagne, which is worth mentioning (veggie and otherwise).
