Discord servers have a default limit of 5,000 users that can be online at the same time and it can be lifted by request. One of the Discord devs was nice and bumped the main server to 7,500 users. While it was nice and everything, that cap was reached quickly soon after, and it doesn't seem that they are willing to up the limits even further on the) server.
